The Police Service of Northern Ireland can sadly confirm a man has died following a road traffic collision in Maguiresbridge.
Detective Inspector Stewart from the Police Service’s Collision Investigation Unit said: “We received a report at approximately 1.30am this morning, Friday 26th June, of a single-vehicle collision involving a grey Volkswagen Golf in the Belfast Road area.
“Officers attended, alongside colleagues from other emergency services. Medical treatment was provided to a male driver, and female passenger - they were taken onward to hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries at this time.
“Sadly, however, a second passenger in the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. He has been named as 21-year-old Shane Caulfield from the Portadown area.
“Police have also arrested the driver on suspicion of a number of related offences. The Belfast Road which was closed in both directions, has now fully reopened to road users.”
