Two men have been sentenced for robbery at Craigavon Crown Court yesterday, Thursday 25th June.

David Barry, 33 and Ryan Lundy, 32, were sentenced for their involvements in a robbery at a business in the Railway Street area of Lisburn on Tuesday 17th December 2024.

Barry was sentenced to 56-months imprisonment for robbery, 10-months imprisonment for resisting police, 6-months for possession of a class C controlled substance and one month for breach of discharge. All to be served concurrently and time on remand will be applied.

Lundy received a 37-month custodial sentence for aiding and abetting robbery and 10-months for resisting police. Both to be served concurrently.

Speaking following sentencing, Detective Inspector Lewis said: “David Barry claimed to be armed with a knife when he entered the off licence shortly before 10pm.

"He took cash from the till and stole an item from the shelves before making off from the scene with Lundy, who was waiting outside the premises.

“Officers attended and Barry was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including robbery and resisting police, while Lundy was arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting robbery and resisting police.

"Today’s sentencing offers reassurance that we will work tirelessly to bring offenders before the courts so that the victims receive the justice they deserve. I would ask anyone who believes they are a victim of crime to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.”
