Police in Derry/Londonderry have arrested a man following a stop-and-search in the city.

Officers on mobile patrol in the Rosses Gate area noted a vehicle being driven at speed at approximately 12.55am this morning, Saturday 13th June.

Police signalled for the car to stop and officers spoke with the driver – a search of the vehicle also took place – with items recovered for forensic examination.

The man, aged 35, was also found to be in possession of a suspected Class A controlled drug. He was arrested on suspicion of drug-related and driving offences, and remains in custody at this time as enquiries continue.
