Police have made an arrest following a planned search of a property in north Belfast on Thursday, 12th February.
Neighbourhood Policing Team Inspector Adams said: “Officers from our Neighbourhood Policing Team conducted a search of a property under warrant in the Florence Square area at around 7.40pm on Thursday evening.
“Colleagues from HMRC were also in attendance during the search, which uncovered a large number of suspected stolen items, including four imitation firearms, phones, household items, confectionary, crisps and makeup. A quantity of cash, along with suspected counterfeit cigarettes and clothing were also seized.
“A 38-year-old man was arrested on two counts of suspicion of possession of firearm(s) or ammunition in suspicious circumstances and possessing a firearm in suspicious circumstances.
"He was further arrested on suspicion of having a firearm or imitation firearm whilst committing an offence, two counts of possessing criminal property and two counts of handling stolen goods.
