Officers from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force (PCTF), assisted by officers from the Tactical Support Group (TSG), have arrested a man following a search at a property in Carrickfergus earlier today, Thursday 30th April.

Detective Inspector Maguire said: “As part of an investigation into suspected drugs criminality linked to the South East Antrim UDA, we conducted a proactive search on the property and seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, cash and drugs supply paraphernalia.

“A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including possession of a class A controlled drug with intent to supply, possession of a class A controlled drug and possessing criminal property.

“He remains in police custody at this time.

“The searches and seizures are a demonstration of the PCTF’s commitment to tackle all types of organised criminality linked to paramilitaries, in an ongoing effort to rid our communities of the harm these groups cause and of their coercive control.
