A 31 year old man has been arrested following a report of suspicious activity at the Iverna Close area of south Belfast on Wednesday 17th June.

Sergeant Shortt said: “Shortly before 7:35am, it was reported that a male was attempting to gain access to a number of properties in the area. Police also received a report of a male in the back garden of a property in the Roosevelt Way area of the city armed with a bottle.  At this stage, police are investigating a link between these incidents. 

“Officers attended and the man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, two counts of attempted burglary, possession of an offensive weapon, possessing an article with a blade or point in a public place and common assault. He remains in police custody at this time.
