A 45-year-old man has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and assault on police.

It follows a firearms incident in the High Street area of Bangor on Sunday night, 18th May.

He is due to appear before Newtownards Magistrates' Court today, Saturday 24th May. 

As is procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
