Road users are being advised to expect traffic disruption across Ards and North Down tonight, Tuesday 1st July, due to a number of planned parades.

The bigger parades will be taking place in the centres of Bangor, Newtownards and Comber, where large numbers are expected.

In Bangor, the Hamilton Road will be closed to traffic from approximately 7pm until 8pm, when the parade has finished.

The parade in Newtownards will begin at 7.15pm on Mary Street and return to this point to finish at approximately 9pm.

The first of the parades in Comber will begin at 6.45pm and the last, will end at approximately 9pm. Diversions will be in place due to most of the town being impacted.

A number of feeder parades will also be taking place across Donaghadee, Ballywalter and Greyabbey, where delays can be anticipated.

Due to numbers of participants and spectators expected in the areas mentioned, local officers will be on the ground to assist with diversions, and to enable local access to residents.

If you do not plan on attending any of the parades taking place, please seek an alternative route for your journey.
