The Police Service of Northern Ireland can confirm a man has sadly died following a single vehicle road traffic collision in Armagh on Thursday, January 15.

Inspector Stewart said: “Police received a report shortly after 7.30pm of a collision in the Hamiltonsbawn Road area.

“Our officers attended, supported by colleagues from partner emergency services. The driver of the car, a man aged in his 90s, was taken to hospital, but sadly died from his injuries.

The Hamiltonsbawn Road was closed for some time but has now reopened.

“Collision Investigation Unit detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances of this collision. We are particularly keen to hear from persons who witnessed the incident or hold digital footage which may assist with enquiries.

“This includes dash-cam, mobile, CCTV or other material. Contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1339 of 15/01/26.”
