Two people have been arrested following a report of an assault in south Belfast on Tuesday 11th September.


Inspector Carey said: “Shortly before 3pm it was reported that a man had been injured following an altercation involving a number of people in the Botanic Avenue area.


“Officers attended and arrested two people.


 “A man aged 37 was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and remains in police custody at this time.


“A 37-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, she has since been released on bail to allow for further enquiries to take place.


“A third man was taking to hospital for treatment for an injury to his head.


“Enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the altercation to contact police on 101 quoting reference 948 10/09/24.”
