Detectives investigating a report of a burglary at a house in Carryduff in July 2023 have made two arrests.
Commenting, Detective Sergeant Cargin said: “Searches were carried out yesterday, Monday 9th September, in the Moneyreagh, Bangor and Ballygowan areas in connection to a burglary in the Baronscourt Heights area.
“A number of items were seized by officers as a result of the searches and will now undergo further examination.
“Two men, aged 24 and 41, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary with intent to steal and burglary.
“They have subsequently been released on police bail following questioning to allow for further enquiries to take place.
“Entry was gained to the Baronscourt Heights property on Monday, 17th July 2023 by breaking an external door sometime around 11.40pm.
“Some of the rooms were ransacked and a sum of cash and quantity of jewellery was stolen from the house. Our investigation is continuing which includes ongoing lines of enquiry into a significant number of similar type burglaries across Northern Ireland.
“Anyone with information that could assist is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 2156 17/07/23.”
