Suspected Cannabis was seized during searches in Newcastle

Newry, Mourne and Down District Support Team officers, assisted by local Neighbourhood Policing Team officers, conducted a search at a property in the Newcastle area on Monday, 3rd June.

During the search of the house in the Dunwellan Park area, officers seized a quantity of suspected Cannabis worth an estimated street value of £15,000 and a sum of cash.

Two men aged 19 and 50 were arrested on suspicion of a number of drugs offences and have been released on bail to allow for further enquiries.

Newry, Mourne & Down District Commander, Superintendent Norman Haslett said: “We are actively committed to removing dangerous drugs from our streets, and proactively investigate and carry out searches to disrupt this activity, and those involved in the drugs trade.
