Police have charged two men to court in relation to an assault which occurred in north Belfast on Thursday 9th July.

A 31-year-old man and a 22-year-old man have been charged with offences including wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence, assault on police, and common assault.

They are both expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court today, Saturday 11th July.

As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

A 27-year-old man who was arrested has been released on bail to allow for further police enquiries.

The charges are in relation to a report of a man being stabbed in the Fortwilliam Park area of the city.
