Neighbourhood Policing officers in Derry City and Strabane were involved in a project bringing together young members of local clubs in the city.
The purpose of this project was to empower young people. They came together over a series of workshops to develop this story. This led to successful partnership working and the creation of 'Our Modern Troubles' - a comic-book which touches on serious issues such as addiction."
Our Modern Troubles, tells a powerful story about the impact and consequences of the sale and use of illicit drugs, and of the sinister influence of paramilitaries and their control in communities.
The project was funded by NI Executive’s Programme on Paramilitarism and Organised Crime (EPPOC) and 500 copies have been printed, which will be available for use in local schools and youth clubs.
