What do you enjoy most about your role as a probationary police officer?
What I really enjoy is being able to help people when they need it most. Whether that is providing reassurance, supporting victims or resolving issues that affect local communities. The role also gives me the opportunity to learn from other experienced colleagues while working as part of a supportive team.
What do you find most challenging?
Some situations can be emotionally challenging, particularly when dealing with vulnerable individuals or victims of crime. Balancing empathy with professionalism is not always easy however, the training, guidance and teamwork within the Police Service helps.
What do you hope to achieve in your career?
I hope to continue developing my skills, knowledge and confidence be a police officer the public can trust and rely on. In the long term I want to progress within the ranks which will allow me to positively contribute to the organisation and the communities we serve.
