Why did you join the Police Service?

I joined the Police Service as I wanted a career that would be different every day and give me the opportunity to help others.

What do you enjoy most about your role as a probationary police officer?

Every day is different and I am still constantly learning throughout my time as a probationary officer. Observing how more experienced officers deal with incidents has been invaluable, allowing me to develop my own approach and skills. I also greatly value the team I work with and the support we provide one another on a daily basis.

What do you find most challenging?

The most challenging aspect is the steep learning curve that comes with becoming a police officer. There is a great deal to learn, but having a supportive and knowledgeable team around me has made a significant difference and has helped to build my confidence.

What do you hope to achieve in your career?

I hope to continue developing my skills and knowledge so that I can carry out my role with confidence and provide the best possible support to victims. In the future, I would like to progress into a role within Road Policing.
