Mid Ulster Policing District incorporates Dungannon, Cookstown and Magherafelt as well as a large number of towns, villages and many rural communities. The District has a strong focus on manufacturing, from small family owned business to multi-national companies. 

We deliver a policing service that is community focused, tackling the issues that matter to you.

As a District we have five neighbourhood teams, with each neighbourhood officer assigned to each district electoral ward – ensuring that every part of Mid Ulster has an identified officer working with their community.

Your Local Policing Area

Local policing in Mid Ulster is delivered by Local Policing Response Teams (LPRTs) and Local Neighbourhood Policing Teams (LNPTs).

Communities living in the Mid Ulster District have two LPRTs, based in Magherafelt and Dungannon Police Stations, providing 24 hour cover to keep people safe.

Local Neighbourhood Policing

There are five LNPTs who cover every district electoral ward in the Mid Ulster District.

LNPTs are based in based in Cookstown, Magherafelt and Clogher Police Stations and work in partnership with communities as well as statutory and voluntary bodies to address local issues and concerns and find long lasting solutions.

The teams are committed to improving your quality of life and building safer communities with you. Your neighbourhood officers work in partnership with other agencies in health, education and local government to deliver collaborative solutions.

Foreword from District Commander

We are working hard every day in Mid Ulster to provide a safe environment and community for everyone who works, lives and visits here.

We have four police stations across the district, they are located in Cookstown, Dungannon, Magherafelt and Clougher. We deliver policing 24/7 with two Local Policing Response Teams (LPRTs) operating and five Local Neighbourhood Policing Teams (LNPTs) responding to your calls for service.

Neighbourhood policing is at the heart of the service we deliver and we work closely with our partners in different sectors to find comprehensive and long lasting solutions to the concerns you raise.
